Occasionally, Google Video has trouble supplying our video feeds. Sometimes a video will display for one member, but not for another. It depends on the status of that particular Google Video server at that particular time. So the video might play for one user but not another. To combat this, we made all of the videos in the Apprentice Program available for download and added a link to view the video from an Alternate Source.
Next to every video that appears on the web site, there is a series of links that say "Download this Video" as a WMV, MP4 or FLV. There is also a "Watch this video from an alternate source" link.
To download the videos so they will play in Windows Media Player (the standard multimedia player on all Windows machines), click the Download the WMV link. To download the videos so they will play on your iPod or Mac computer, click the Download the MP4 link. You can also download the video for FLV or Flash Video players.
Or, you can click the “Watch the Video from Alternate Source” link and the video will play in a new browser window. This alternate source is another server hosting the same video file that Google Video hosts. But because this server gets fewer hits, it will display the video more reliably. Click this link if you don’t want to download the video.
We’ve tried to build in redundancies like these to make sure that all of our members have access to all of the videos at all times.
