How do I get started in the affiliate program?

You have several options on how you can proceed.

One is to develop your own web site and domain name.  Fill your site with related content (any golf topic should work just fine).  Get it listed in search engines, etc.  This option gives you the most control over the presentation of your affiliate links.  But this option is also the most costly (Not terribly costly though.  You can get hosting cheaply - under $20 a year - and most hosts will throw in a free domain name).

Another option is to start a blog on any of the popular blog engines - Blogger.com, Typepad.com, Blog.com, etc. - and write blog articles with your affiliate links included.  Write new articles every couple days or weeks about golf topics.  This option is normally free or very low cost.  In most cases you can buy a domain name and point it to your blog for under $10 or use the URL they provide for free.  Besides being free, blogs on major sites normally get indexed into search engines like Google faster than brand new web sites.  You don't have as much control over the final product, but the cost and development time are reduced.

A third option would be to write and post articles about golf to free article sites.  Your article will reside on their site and is available to post to other web sites.  You should include your affiliate link in the article so wherever the article is posted it will point readers to your affiliate link.

Those are the three main ways our affiliates use to promote their link and get commission sales.
